On Sunday, 24th November 2024, the Education, Research, and Information (ERI) unit of the DRMD was warmly welcomed by the members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church for the volunteer induction program.

Held in the Seventh Day Adventist church, St. louis, the induction program aimed to identify the areas of interest of volunteers, focusing on how they could best assist during emergencies or disasters.

The program also provides volunteers the opportunity to familiarize themselves with DRMD’s mandates and the standards of behavior expected of them. Moreover, volunteers were explained the different benefits entailed in the Disaster Risk Management Act, 2014 for gazetted volunteers.

Throughout these sessions, volunteers engaged actively, whereby they voiced out their ideas, share their experiences and provide suggestions to inspire other volunteers to participate in the vital cause.

Moving ahead, the division will then categories volunteers according to their areas of interest and initiate the development of a training plan for volunteers in the upcoming year.

The Division extends its sincere appreciation to all the members of the Seventh Day Adventist church who engaged and supported Ms. Jade Landry and Ms. Juliette Jeanny, from ERI unit, in making the induction program a success.

Furthermore, the division express its gratitude to everyone for their interest in contributing to this vital cause. Your support is invaluable in strengthening our community’s resilience during times of disaster.
