In a brief ceremony, the Disaster Risk Management Division (DRMD) presented five local experts Mr. Simon Dugasse, Mr. Mikael Evenor, Mr. Dean Morel, Mr. Jean-Luc Mondon, and Mr. Kevin Sophola with their tickets to attend specialized training for the St. Louis Hill Stabilization Project in Switzerland.
This training will equip them with advanced stabilization techniques, which they will later apply to several high-risk sites across Seychelles. Upon their return, the experts will use these newly acquired skills to address landslide and soil erosion risks, ensuring a more resilient and sustainable approach to managing landslides and rockfall in Seychelles.
The ceremony symbolizes an important milestone in strengthening local expertise and promoting international collaboration for Seychelles’ long-term development.
The experts include Mr. Simon Dugasse, representing DRMD; Mr. Mikael Evenor and Mr. Dean Morel, representing the Seychelles Infrastructure Agency (SIA); Mr. Jean-Luc Mondon, a geologist; and Mr. Kevin Sophola, representing the Seychelles Planning Authority (SPA).
